Dr. Alejandro Plastina, Associate Professor/Extension Economist

Dr. Alejandro Plastina is an Associate Professor/Extension Economist in the Department of Economics at Iowa State University (ISU). His area of specialization is agricultural production and technology, with an emphasis on farm business and financial management. His research focuses on the socioeconomic drivers of conservation practices, voluntary pest resistance management, carbon programs, and agricultural productivity.

 

He is an Associate Director of the ISU-Iowa Bankers Association Agricultural Credit School and an Academic Member of the Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. He serves as Advisor to the ISU Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation, Chair of the ISU Farm Financial Stress Task Force, and past Chair of the North Central Farm Management Extension Committee.

Wesley Tucker, Farm & Ranch Transition

Wesley Tucker is a Farm & Ranch Transition Specialist with the University of Missouri Extension. Wesley has a BS and MS in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri specializing in estate & succession planning, farm labor management, and beef marketing systems.  He has 22 years of experience working directly with agricultural producers throughout the Midwest. He serves on the national board of directors for Annie’s Project: Empowering Farm Women and the International Farm Transition Network.

Elaine Kub, CFA, Commodity Market Economist & Author

Elaine Kub, CFA is the author of Mastering the Grain Markets: How Profits Are Really Made -- a 360-degree look at all aspects of grain trading, which draws on her experiences as a market analyst, grain merchandiser, futures trader, and farmer.
